Industrial Design Outreach Receives Funding from The Fear Not Foundation
SAN FRANCISCO, California - October 31, 2008
The Fear Not Foundation has granted the San Francisco State University Industrial Design Outreach Program with a generous financial gift in honor of Norman A. Willock. The Fear Not Foundation believes that supporting design education will help to create the next generation of problem solvers. The Fear Not Foundation supports San Francisco programs that provide innovative, industrial, and practical knowledge to young people. Their gift will provide materials, tools and faculty support for the second iDo Community Bench Project, which will be built at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School, in San Francisco's Bayview/Hunters Point district.
The funding provided to the Industrial Design Outreach Program is intended to establish a single scholarship which will be granted to a Thurgood Marshall iDo participant whose excellence in design, craftsmanship and citizenship will be recognized by his/her peers, mentors and teachers. Thanks to the generous support of the foundation, followers of the iDo program can expect to see the completed bench in the spring of 2009.
